In-mould technology
Product labelling through injection moulding technology
In-mould labelling (IML) refers to a process for particularly durable labelling or decoration and is used in thermoforming and in the injection moulding technology. It is typically used for packaging and product decorations.
Pre-printed foils are placed inside the injection moulding tool and bond with the decoration base when injected due to the temperature of the liquid plastic. Product labelling therefore takes place when the packaging or the product is produced. This has the advantage of allowing for a one-step production process.
The in-mould process offers a large selection of possibilities. With different starting foils, a variety of optical and haptic effects can be achieved. Whether smooth, rough, matt or glossy, as labels or covering entire surfaces, we will find the best solution to meet your needs.
